case study
Crossroad – The Road to Emmaus
This short film highlights the events that take place on the road to Emmaus in 33AD between two disciples (Osmani Rodriguez & Kim Igoe Kasper) and “the man,” revealed as the resurrected Yeshua of Nazareth (Nathan DeHoyos), the Christ. The film juxtapositions this story with some emotive slow motion / fast motion moments of Mary Magdalene’s (Natasha Senchuk) sprints back to the upper room as she races to reveal that she has seen the risen Lord. In a jubilee of emotions, she fights through the rugged terrain aiming to get back to where the eleven apostles debate their next move.
As biblically depicted in Luke 24:13-32, this 12 – 14:44 minute film aims to express the significance and urgency of the preaching of the gospel upon the revelation of Jesus Christ as Lord. It expresses the ultimate truth that has been hidden until now, “that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19). We are currently in a time of increased wickedness and a growing apostasy. This film helps us remember that in the midst of doubt and confusion, Jesus faithfully meets us on our path; He is walking ahead of us, always leading us to The Father and He guides us with the living Word.
